Jungle cat
Hundreds and thousands of waders and migratory birds arrive in the wetlands, grasslands and rann habitats of Gujarat and form the prey base for this widespread and common feline. The Jungle cat is characterised by black tufts on its ears and usually preys on birds, rodents and reptiles.

Continuing with the winter special bird series, a Lesser Sand plover is seen walking along the mudflats. These small waders breeds in the himalayas and winters in the Indian subcontinent and Australasia.
