Damselflies are always a treat to photograph. They seem fragile yet elegant. But don’t be fooled by what you see. Look closer and you will see strong mandibles meant to devour insects and strong hind legs that they use to catch their prey in mid-air.

 

Project 365: Day 13, Caught a robber


A Robber flies (Asilidae family), also known as Assassin flies are ferocious predators.They are excellent guerrilla hunters, using stealth and speed to hunt insects often in air. In short they are the “Rambo” among flies!
