The various levels of painted blue walls, some facing the sun some shaded, is a common site in the city. The blue walls serve twin purposes of reducing heating and providing aesthetic qualities.

Narrow alleys lead up towards the majestic Mehrangarh Fort, crisscrossing, providing little breathing space for houses on either side. I found this elderly man picking up trash from the steps and alleys leading up to the fort. Must say this is a very difficult job..
